Spavia Naples is proud to announce their support of the Parkinson's Association of SWFL for our 2023 Spavia Cares efforts.
In 2008, my mother was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and she battled the disease for over a decade. During the later years of the diagnosis, my parents found the Parkinsons’ Association of SWFL an invaluable asset to help them navigate their personal journeys.
My mother found the group sessions invaluable in her journey of coping and working with the disease. She found a lot of therapy in sharing stories amongst the group about the common challenges making her feel more comfortable in her struggles. At the same time, my father as the caregiver has his own challenges and struggles and the spouse group proved equally beneficial in his journey. As with so many of the diseases that can only be managed, it becomes a family affair. Each parent found a lifeline with their groups and made great friendships along the way.
I could not be happier to support this organization. It's had a direct impact on our family, my loved ones, myself, and they do wonderful work. In part, we want to bring some awareness, we want to raise some money and just overall give back to our community and help support the Parkinson's Association of Southwest Florida for our 2023 Spavia Cares campaign.
I hope you join me.
